1. Q. What is a System?

A. An ACT system is a grouping of technologies from various genres that are expertly tailored into a smooth functioning “machine”. We leave nothing to chance. We do not add to your problems by creating additional issues downstream from the system.

2. Q. How can I be sure ACT will get it right?

A. Our clients are part of the solution from the very first consultation through design, manufacture, and commissioning. We have invested heavily in testing machinery to prove out our recommendations firsthand and we will not accept your deposit without discussing and agreeing upon a plan, and or completing testing. We then require our drawings to be signed off before any metal is cut. When combined with our experience and knowledge base, any risks are completely minimized.

3. Q. What about disposal of waste from the system?

A. All cleaning and finishing systems generate waste. How you deal with them successfully is a major key in attaining the overall goals of your project. Closed loop technologies are recommended for all wash stages, and we offer closed loop cascading rinse units as well. We also offer the most advanced floating contaminant removal technologies and filtration devices available to ensure that the bath life is used to its fullest extent for weeks or months. Many clients enjoy significantly lower waste generation and lower operating costs than before adopting our designs and we have the ability to reduce liquid wastes by over 90% of their original volume.

Waste minimization doesn’t end there. All of our blasting systems use “pull-through” dust collection. This means that even when maintenance is allowed to let slide, our blasting systems do not create a dust cloud in your plant.

If your plant already has limitations on liquid waste disposal, or your blasting operations are suffering we can help by incorporating the best available technologies (BAT) with our comprehensive approach.

4. Q. Are your systems all fully automated or do you have manual and semi-automated units as well?

A. Our designs are built to be flexible. Many clients choose our systems with all of the required pre-plumbing and wiring to accept fully automated material handling in the future. At the very least, our modular designs make adding more stages in the future much more economical than starting from scratch. 50% of our systems are manual or semi-automated by design.

5. Q. What kind of quote can we expect from ACT?

A. The bulk of our clients are engineers, plant managers, chief financial officers etc. A one-page quote with part number and price just doesn’t cut it! Our quotes have been historically received as “very professional, complete with incredible detail” with “ pictures and CAD work beyond anything we imagined for such a quick turnaround”.

6. Q. Does ACT offer financing?

A. Yes. ACT can secure financing for systems from $10,000 to $1 million plus. Many clients choose our operating lease plans where the systems themselves are the collateral…this means no liens on your business! The payments are typically structured along pre-set schedules 12, 24, 36, 48, 60, or 72 months and the initial cash outlay is minimal to zero depending upon your financial strength. Avoid budgeting delays. Get the tools you need from ACT today by using your expense account to make the monthly payments!

7. Q. How quickly can ACT get our plant set up with a system?

A. Systems vary in complexity and size. This means that the entire process can be a as short as 2-3 weeks and as long as 24 weeks for the most complicated designs. The best thing is to inform us of your timetable from the outset. We’ll do everything we can to meet your schedule.

8. Q. Our plant is 1500 miles from ACT, how will we be serviced?

A. ACT has systems in service in over a dozen countries. In 2003 ACT began offering on-site commissioning for all systems* as part of the package. That means that we’ll be there to assist with the set-up of the system, initial start-up, and basic training. We also offer in-depth training seminars for large departments or military organizations and their operators or facilities personnel, and our Client Services Department offers on-site preventive maintenance plans tailored to the application. Service is important to us and most parts or consumables ship within 24 hours of order placement to keep you supplied.

9. Q. We just need a new chemistry and service on our old system, can ACT help?

A. Yes. ACT’s client services department is very busy upgrading existing systems and repairing other older units. We welcome the opportunity to show you what we can do. Our expertise in chemical formulation and depth in chemists is well known. If you need a more modern formulation and support, let’s talk!

10. Q. I have 30,000 “widgets” to clean and surface prep per month. Can ACT provide job shop services to keep me producing if I can’t buy a system?

A. Yes. We’ll look at any job large or small. Our staff is equipped to provide many layers of work including cleaning and finishing, inspection, and packaging. How may we help you today?
